 Art Care

Fine Art Gourds: Your fine art gourd has been coated several times with a UV resistant polyurethane coating to protect it from sunlight, dust and moisture. All color used is archival and of the highest quality. To keep your purchase clean, gently wipe it with a soft, damp cloth, As with all fine art, do not expose it to high heat or direct and prolonged sunlight.

Encaustic Art: Although encaustic art is created with a formula of beeswax, pigment, damar resin and turpentine , the surface will not soften or melt with normal display. The resin in the encaustic formula and the technique of heat fusion actually creates a hard, shell like finish. This finish can be buffed to a high gloss shine with a soft, dry cloth or left matte as desired. Each has it's own attractions with color and texture being taken into consideration. As with all fine art do not expose encaustic art to high heat or direct sunlight. When transporting encaustic art, take care to protect the top surface.

Fish Print Art (gyotaku): Very little care is necessary for a fish print, traditional or contemporary. Keep it out of heat and direct sunlight as with any other artwork. Carla Bratt's framed fish prints are all created with high quality archival paints, placed under acid free mats and in most cases framed with solid cherry wood frames and UV resistant glass.
